Description
"Cored solder wire is a convenient method of combining solder with flux. This eliminates the need for a separate fluxing operation and simplifies the soldering process. The flux in acid cored wires does not contain acid as such but its level of activation is sufficient to promote solder wetting on bright mild steel, heavily tarnished copper and brass, nickel and zinc. Residues of the flux are classed as corrosive and it is recommended that such residues be removed by thorough washing with water or other suitable cleaner. Acid cored flux is not recommended for electrical solder joints or where corrosion may be problematic. Acid cored flux is designed by XX-S, where XX is the nominal tin content of the alloy.This acid cored solder wires are manufactured under rigorously controlled conditions from virgin materials to provide users with the highest assurance of quality and consistency. The tin content for this solder is 30%, making it Grage 30S.
