Description
97/3 Solid core wire is used with a dipping flux, CHT 555, to do copper piping soldering work in water systems.**Very good capillary action. *Forms a strong bond with copper or brass *Also used for copper to mild steel. **Alloy: Lead Free Solid Wire: 97% Tin 3% Copper.**Application:*1. Ensure surface to be soldered is clean and dry, no water should be on the surface.*2. Apply a thin layer of flux to inside of the fitting and outside of the pipe ends. *3. Insert pipe into fitting and turn slightly to apply flux evenly. *4. Place job in stand and use a gas flame and heat the outside surface evenly until flux is flowing out of the joint. don't heat inside or directly onto the flux. Heat until both parts are evenly hot. Don't overheat or char the flux. *5. Remove the flame and melt the solder against the surface at the joint interface. Solder must melt without flame and run into joint. Allow to cool without moving the soldered joint.
